Apple’s Stupefying Search Box

Maybe I’m just not hip enough to get it.

 Apple’s website search box

If I want to search for something, I enter the string (here I entered "ipods")

But what do I do next?

  • The magnifying glass isn’t a clickable icon.
  • The ‘X’ is who knows what? [it clears the search box]
  • I don’t need "Search Tips" [and the right-pointing arrow] (well, maybe I do?, but it doesn’t say anything about how to search…)

It’s unfortunate that you are unable to read.

If you had read the Search Tips you would have found out in the first sentence what to do to execute your search.

Also, it has become a defacto standard that pressing the Return (or the Enter) key executes a search.

Well, call me stupid, but please don’t call me illiterate…

Oh yeah, and Happy New Year to you!
