The Untimely Passing of a Legend

We learned today that our dear friend, Matthew Allbee, passed away over the weekend after a long battle with cancer.
The last time I saw Matt was just a couple of months ago at Inforum, and while he certainly wasn’t well, I had no idea it would be the last time we would talk.
I have known Matt for many years, and had run into at Lawson-related events numerous times. Forever a champion for users of Lawson products, Matt loved interacting with Lawson customers, and will be remembered for his buoyant spirit and charming wit. Matt was a dear friend to all of us in the Lawson community, and we will miss him greatly.

I saw Matt a year and half ago and the only reason he mentioned his cancer was because I told him my wife was also battling it. That’s the only reason he brought up his condition – otherwise he never would told me. We had lunch and talked. He looked great – the old Matt that I knew. I wasn’t aware of how his conditioned changed after our meeting, but it’s sad to hear this news. He was a great guy, father and husband. I’ll miss having Sushi with him and listening to his fluent Japanese when ordering.
